Big news for FETs: This semester marks the official launch of lessons based on our new textbook series, Chiayi Adventures! These textbooks were written, published, and sent to schools at the end of last year, and we’re excited to finally see them in action in the classroom.
The series includes four books — one for each semester of sixth grade (elementary) and seventh grade (junior high school).
Chiayi Adventures is all about celebrating the unique charm of Chiayi City. The textbooks cover more than 24 topics, from tourist attractions like Wenhua Road Night Market and Hinoki Village to local delicacies like turkey rice.
The aim is to make English lessons more engaging by connecting students with the city they live in while they improve their language skills.
We’re encouraging FETs to teach at least six lessons per semester from these new books. The structure is already set up to make it easy to dive in, and we’re looking forward to seeing the creative ways FETs will incorporate Chiayi’s history, food, and culture into their lessons.
With a wide variety of topics, from Alishan to local festivals, Chiayi Adventures gives teachers plenty of room to create engaging and meaningful lessons. We’re excited to see how FETs will bring these subjects to life and help students connect more deeply with their hometown.
